The event brought together family, friends, colleagues, and community members in remembrance and celebration of Steve’s rich legacy and the response exceeded our wildest expectations. In all, we had more than 20 corporate sponsors supporting the event attended by 148 participating golfers and an additional 60 dinner guests.  

As a result of this enthusiastic response, we were able to raise a total of $21,282.22 that will be directed to support renaming a local arena after Steve; creating an ongoing bursary in his name for deserving youth registered with Cumberland Minor Hockey; and donating in his name to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. In addition to this sum, a further $2,000 was donated directly by CI Financial, Guardian and BMO to the Heart Institute. We expect these donations to have a positive for many years into the future.
